Yeah, at first they came right out and said Mewtwo was the strongest, but then they made new ones and Game Stat wise, they're on par with Mewtwo. They've never claimed them to be stronger in the anime though . . .
The only ones I'd accept as stronger than Mewtwo are . . . *Sigh* . . . Arceus because he's a god. And then by affiliation, Dialga and Palkia. They're dieties and stuff. Mewtwo was created by humans. Does man kind have the power to create something as strong as a god? I'm not so sure . . .
But where none of that is really official or anything, Mewtwo is still the best in my mind.

Actually, in my mind only Arceus is thougher than Mewtwo. He has the second to best base stats, as far as I know. Palkia and Dialga are ok-ish, but I don't think the deity argument counts, since almost all legendaries seem to be revered as devine. Seriously... My Alakazam could almost kill my wild Dialga with one hit and my Garchomp can go toe to toe with my brother's trained Palkia. Sure there are also non-legendaries who can take on Mewtwo if they're properly kitted out. But I think that's a lot thougher. Although Mewtwo does have a bit of a disadvantage, since he's human made, he is still based on an existing Pokémon. I think that made him more succesful. I figure that's why he didn't come out looking like Porygon. Anyway, whenever I see someone call out a Mewtwo, I automatically flinch and prepare for a though fight. No other Pokémon really has that effect on me. Not even any of the other legendaries.

Heh, yes, we should all fear Mewtwo.
Mewtwo is only rated second base stat wise because numerically, he comes before the others do. He's actually tied with a buncha other legendaries like Lugia, Rayquaza, and others. There's like seven of them all tied with each other, I believe.
So in the game, he's tied. In the anime, it hasn't been really addressed. So we're free to believe that he's stronger if we want to. That Dr. Yung guy did choose to create a Mewtwo over any of the other legendaries, I suppose. (Not counting Mew because he didn't like the Mew.)

He didn't like Mew? I don't quite understand.

The guy from the Master of Mirage Pokemon thing. He made that Mew, but called it a failed experiment so he didn't like it.

Oh right. Him. But that wasn't really a movie, was it? And that doc may have been a little limited in his choices, because he had to base himself of Pikachu's memories, which at the time did not include Deoxys, Rayquaaza, Palkia, Dialga or Darkrai. The only real options were Mewtwo, Lugia and perhaps the Ho-oh Ash saw in episode 1. And because Mewtwo was the only one to have acted as an enemy (and because of his supposed vicious nature, unlike Lugia who was strong but does not appear to have gone full out against the three birds), perhaps he was considered the more desirable choice. And that's my view on that.

Pikachu can take out ground-types.
With electric moves.
The anime logic fails at life xD

I'm actually really proud of them when they get it right. Except . . . there was one episode where they repeated over and over and OVER that Ghost moves don't effect Normal Pokemon.
It was one where Dawn and Ash were in a contest. Their opponent chick kept using Shadow Claw to block their attacks. Ash was using his Aipom and when Dawn fought her she used her Buneary. So every time she used Shadow Claw, they were all like, "But that won't work on a Normal Pokemon!" They'd she'd be all like, "That's not why I'm using it," and then in some way shape or form, Shadow Claw would protect her Glameow from an attack or whatever.
That's how they'd do it. Every time she did it. And she used Shadow Claw a lot. It's like, "Okay, we get it! Ghost doesn't hurt Normal!" What made it really annoying is that Dawn and Ash didn't seem to catch on that she was basically using it defensively. It's like every time they were all like, "But why?!"
. . . I like using quotation marks today. And rambling. But that's normal for me.

Lol. I've actually seen Gary's Umbreon NOT being affected by an Alakazam's Psychic attack, and I was like: 'wooooww!!'
Thet got it right!

Yeah. Whenever they do it right, it's like you have a heart attack . . .
Sadly, there was one thing they got right at first, but then they made it wrong later. In a Johto Episode where Team Rocket stole those bells from the tower in Ecruteak City . . . uh . . . that Suicune guy . . . Eucine or something? Anyway, he had his Alakazam use Reflect to block some attacks. But then a Bellsprout or Weepinbel or something used Vine Whip and that broke through the Reflect. They gave the explanation, "Oh no! Reflect blocks physical attacks, but Vine Whip is a special attack!" (Not word per word of course, but along those lines.) I was impressed at that time because they got it right.
But now in D/P, Vine Whip was made into a Physical Attack. Whoops . . .

I guess, but what happened in Johto must have seemed pretty weird to the uninitiated, because that Vine Whip looked pretty physical.

Heh... I just can't get over how stupid it looks whenever a trainer yells at their Pokémon to dodge an incoming attack... I mean, seriously, why would they need to be instructed to do that? Are they really THAT stupid?
'Oh, a giant ball of fire is being shot my way... I know! I'll just sit right there and wait for it to hit me! I'm sure it won't hurt a bit, anyway!'
I mean, really... And if memory serves, they didn't use to do that in the older arcs, right?

Yeah, they didn't used to need to say "Dodge." It started some point in Hoenn, I think. Maybe not until the Battle Frontier though . . . That's something that bugs me too, mostly because they just say it so much!

And SOOOOO redundant. You never see a poke go, 'nah, I think I'll stick around for a while'.
