Kinda weird. They did nothing wrong and the navy wants 'em dead. I guess they must be corrupt or something. And Luffy seems confused about the concept of pirating. Lol.

I actually like the idea of a place where it snows all year round (I love the cold). The layout of their world IS pretty weird, but then again if you'd been born there, you'd be used to it.
... and Zolo is there. Yes, I AM stuck on that point, thank you xD
Usopp is a great character, I loved his fight with Choo--he's supposedly weak, but he could still defeat a fish-man, which proves he's not really that much of a wimp, or a coward.
Oh, and I agree 100% that Zolo is stronger than Sanji. xD

Well, there's been a big fuss made about how his name was "mis-translated," from what I hear, Zoro is the correct spelling, but I'm used to Zolo. ^-^' I tend to alternate between spellings.
I... honestly don't see what the big deal is. At least they didn't completely change his name.

It was Zoro in Japan, but pronounced Zolo because 'r's are 'l's over there or whatever. He was named after Zorro.
They just let it be Zolo because of the copyrights and stuff, I think.

Okay, but isn't Zorro a REALLY old book? Copyrights generally expire about 50 years after the original author's death.

The anwser for this is mystery is quite simple. in volume 4 of one piece, the SBS question corner was started up in there. Fans could ask question 2 the author about One Piece. Here i have a question of a one piece fan about Zolo's name. ( i am going 2 type what is said in volume 4, in the seccond question corner) Question: Is Zolo's name inspired by the pirate Francois L'ollonois?"( In japanese, "L'ollonois"is pronounced "Lolonoa" or "Roronoa.") Anwser by Eichiro Oda (the author): That's right. I took his name from Francois L'ollonois, said to be the most Barbaric of the so-called "pirates of the caribbean." In addition, Morgan and Alvida are both named after pirates who actually Existed. That is my proof that zolo's name does not come from the book Zorro, and that his name is pronounced as Zolo!!!!.

Erm... It explains his last name, but not his first name, or am I mistaken?

Yeah, that explains his last name. And like I said, 'r's are 'l's in Japan. It's spelled Zoro, after Zorro, but pronounced Zolo in japan. They changed it to Zolo over here too.
I think the copyrights are still good because of the movies and stuff.

I guess the same happened to Lucario when they translated it from Rukario... Or something. Anyway. The movie makers only possess the copyrights over the movies they made. In other words, if you take some of the scenes from their movies, you are pirating. But the name Zorro and the original story don't belong to the movie makers. In fact, if it had belonged to anybody, the movie makers would have had to pay royalties too! And I don't think they would have wanted to fork op the cash for that. Copyrights are tricky to explain... Maybe I should explain it some other time... lol.

No, I think that makes sense.
Along those lines, I had ordered the uncut version of the first season of One Piece and just received it last night. I watched the first four episodes. I like that it was unedited and uncut. But, it really, really bugged me that they called him Zoro instead of Zolo. It was still pronounced Zolo in Japan . . . they shoulda kept it. I know why they didn't but they should have. Zolo is cooler, I think.
Also don't like the new voices either. When Zolo showed up, I was like, "Piccolo! What are you doing in One Piece?!" I'd like to collect the Anime, but the voices bugged me so much that I might end up getting the 4Kids version anyway . . .

Heheheh, yeah... I keep hearing Piccolo's voice in a lot of anime too. It's kinda nostalgic.

He pops up a lot. If he's going to do so many characters, he should try not to make them sound so much alike. But I dunno, he probably does a lot more than I realize so maybe he is good at masking his voice.

I dunno. Maybe the directors actually want him to do that Piccolo-voice all the time. Heheh.
