Truly, Pokemon Adventures is just simply an amazing series. It's a lot more serious and action packed than the anime. It's somewhat based on the games. At least the characters are. Battles are a lot more intense, a lot more dangerous, a lot more creative, and a lot more strategic. Characters like Red who is the counterpart of Ash is a whole lot cooler than the anime version. Villains like Giovanni are a lot more evil and much more of a threat than the anime as well, making them a lot better in the manga.
I have the first 7 books. Volume wise, they are all the way up to 24 or so, but the English version was canceled over here. Talk about frustrating! Sure, it didn't leave us with a cliffhanger or anything, but you just don't want it to end!
I was shown a forum where someone had put up scans of some future volumes. That let me read two or three more of the books. They were amazing as well. But it just wasn't enough. Especially because in the FireRed and LeafGreen volumes, Mewtwo gets to face off against Deoxys and I SO wanted to read that fight.
Fortunately for me, I found a seller on eBay that sells the English Versions of the manga. They come from Hong Kong. I don't know if this guy just prints them up himself, but if he does, he does a really great job. Looks professional to me! I ordered Volume 24 to try him out. Sure, I skipped a lot of story so I'm not all that sure what happened, but this starts up the Mewtwo Vs. Deoxys thing so I dont' care.
It. Was. AWESOME.
Downside is that they're kinda pricey. $8-$10 or so per book, and then $10 for shipping. But I think it's worth it. I'll probably get the rest of the Mewtwo and Deoxys fight and then maybe go back and get the rest.
. . . Yeah, I kinda rambled. I'm just excited!
