Hi all,
I'm stuck for something to read, and I want to know - what is your favourite book/series of books? I'm not really picky about books, so long as they're not to girly...
I think mine would either be the Harry Potter series, the Alex Rider Books, or the Mortal Engines series.

I'm currently not reading any series, just single novels. I just finished Tailchaser's Song by Tad Williams, which was cool if you like a story about talking animals.

I can't read regular novels anymore. At least if I do, it's very rare. They just bug me. I'm all into manga and stuff.
Out of manga, I really like Rurouni Kenshin, Buso Renkin, One Piece, Fruits Basket, and Chronicles of the Cursed Sword. Don't know if those count here though . . .

Hmmm... Maybe I should make a comic board or something?

Sure, that might be good.

I find my favourite series would have to be the Lord of the Rings, Artemis Fowl and perhaps Lou Hendrix (a French trilogy), though I haven't read that one in... forever. I haven't read much of ANYTHING in forever. Makes me sad, considering I used to read until 4 in the morning, hehe.
Oh! And that series by Salvatore. Drizzt and whatnot. Those were good, too. Hm...

Oooh.
I second the Artemis Fowl recommendation, those are some darn good books.
... Well, The Lost Colony wasn't so great, in my opinion, at least compared to the others >.>
But yeah.
Good books.
Also The Wish List, which is also by Eoin Colfer, but not related to Artemis Fowl.

Agreed. The Lost Colony kinda... lost me, but I didn't mind it. I think it had been a good while since I had actually read anything at all...
Oh yeah! The Wish List! That one was fairly interesting, too.
Come to think of it, other books, other books... (I have a huge mini-library in my rooms. Yay for oxymorons!)
For people who can tolerate stuff like it, I think the Gunslinger series by Stephen King was pretty darn good.

*sigh* I don't get a lot of reading done these days... Though I did just complete the sci-fi novel C.U.S.P. which was alright, though it kinda lost me at the end. I mean, rocketing the Earth off to the Alpha Centauri star system... What the hey?? The thing is, the author did make it seem believable, so I guess that's something. Was funny at times too. Now I'm reading the Kiterunner.

I've heard of that, the Kiterunner. Is it any good?

It's pretty good, but it's also very sad. That's because the main character is a bit of a wuss, and keeps making horrible mistakes in his life (he does feel rotten about it all the time). This costs him some of his best friends, but eventually he sets out to try and redeem himself... in Afghanistan.

My favourite series would definitely be Animorphs, Redwall, and maybe Harry Potter. I have really yet to read a book I enjoyed more, though I did like Atonement at some points. I came away loving it after we discussed it in class, but while actually reading it I didn't enjoy it quite so much. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was good, but I don't remember it too well and need to read the rest of the series.
Kiterunner's on my list of books I want to read since another English teacher in high school did it with her class, and a lot of people liked it, iirc.

I'm not familiar with any of those series you've just mentioned Psychic. I know... Shocking, isn't it? I must be one of the few people who hasn't read a single Harry Potter book. I did see the Animorphs books in a bookstore once. I remember because of the funky covers. Heh.

But wow, never HP? Ever see the movies? And for the record, Atonement and Hitchhiker's Guide were both made into movies, and there was a tv series for both Animorphs and Redwall (though I think Redwall was only in Britain and here in Canada or something). Oh, forgot to mention that I also loved Out of Character and the Silverwing series (which was also made into a tv show). ^^ ~Psychic
