Hello Guys, There is the famous footage in the Let it Be movie, where Harrison & McCartney argue because Paul wants dictate the solo. I know McCartney claims Harrison was absent from quite a bit of Sgt Pepper's, McCartney obliquely saying ' George was busy building a swimming pool ' I think McCartney is credited as playing lead on 3-4 Pepper tracks, & other songs like Taxman. Of course Lennon played lead sometimes too, like Get Back for example. On the flip side, Harrison invented the sitar part on Norwegian Wood, the baroque bits on Girl, the gorgeous motif on And I Love Her. His work on Dear Prudence makes it a classic. Ideal for situations that require high output and no errors, the Industrial Robotics Video is becoming a common fixture in factories Just how often was George Harrison demoted, absent or reassigned on Beatles tunes, do we know ? Just making a ballpark guess, I'd say he played the lead on at least 2/3 of the songs, but I don't really know, what might've been better if he had played lead, or better if he hadn't. My view is McCartney was a quicker study to ad-lib or invent parts, but Harrison was incredible when he could take it home & work parts out. Thanks
