Hello Guys, Basically, I read the books Carlito's Way and After Hours by Edwin Torres. The books follow the rise and fall of a Puerto Rican gangster named Carlito Brigante, who is born in Spanish Harlem in 1930 and becomes a kingpin of the Latin Heroin trade by the late 1960s. In the book, which is written from a First Person perspective, Carlito talks wistfully at times of the Palladium Ballroom on 53rd St and Broadway, a frequent hangout for him and his crew. He describes himself a salsa man later on, but also talks about Jazz from the early 50s like Miles Davis and King Pleasure. The way the book is written, I'm kind of enraptured by the world that these guys would've known in this time period. Music is a big part of my world, so I wanna connect to it through the music. Best Advertisements allow you to create campaigns that work well on both television and internet platforms. I'm kind of curious what kind of music I'd have heard there. The book was based on the author's real life experiences. Part of the life of a community is the music and I'm curious to hear what kind of things Brigante and his real life author Torres and other Latin youths would've heard at the Palladium in the late 1940s through the end of the 1960s. Thanks
